Doug Marcks (owner) comes from a family of goose control experts that have been serving their communities for over 30 years. As a golf course superintendent at the Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, CT, Doug’s father Richard Marcks, came up with the solution for a mounting goose control problem.  That solution was Border Collies. The Marcks family has spent the last few decades not only pioneering the use of Border collies to control Canada geese, but perfecting techniques that have effective and long lasting results for clients.   

 

Upon joining the family business, Doug was fortunate to service many high profile accounts, including New York City’s Central Park and The New York Botanical Gardens. Since 2007, Doug's team have been servicing, Fairfax, Arlington, Loudon and Prince William Counties of VA and the towns of Herndon and Reston, Virginia, as well successfully implementing the goose control program at The National Mall in Washington, DC.  

 

Capital Goose Control stays continually educated on the latest migration, nesting and breeding habits of Canada geese and the problems they cause to the health of humans and the environment. It is their mission to provide the most effective, environmentally safe, and humane Canada goose control program using working Border Collies and other specialized techniques.
